Your
wedding day will be one of the most important days of your entire life.
And as you walk down the aisle, all eyes will be focused on you (and so will the
camera). As you walk down the aisle, you want to completely take his
breath away!
You already have the perfect man and have probably found the perfect wedding dress. You have also probably done a lot of research and found the perfect wedding venue, the perfect wedding photographer and have even searched through countless bridal magazines looking for the perfect wedding hair style. But what about your bridal makeup?
I often hear from clients during the bridal consultation that in order to reduce the costs for their wedding day, they have considered doing their own bridal makeup. I can understand and appreciate this idea. You may be asking yourself if you really need a professional for your bridal makeup or if you could just do your makeup yourself. Here is what I always tell my clients:
You do your makeup everyday so it makes sense that you're the only person who knows exactly how you like your makeup done. But, do you know how to apply your makeup to bring out your best features in order to get the best results from your wedding photography? Do you know the proper intensity for a bridal look in order to make it look like you are even wearing makeup in your wedding photos? Do you know how to down play your flaws (dark circles, redness, etc.) and get a very flawless, high coverage look without being able to see the layers of foundation sitting on your skin?
As professional makeup artists, we have done our research and we know the best products that will provide the best coverage with the least amount of makeup possible so that your bridal makeup application will look completely natural. We are also trained to properly highlight your best features and contour your face so that you will look absolutely stunning in your photos. We are also trained to look at a client and automatically know what colours are best to compliment your eye colour, skin tone and hair colour as well as what types of products are best for your unique skin type and condition.
If you do not book a professional makeup artist for your bridal makeup, you will probably end up wishing that you had booked someone who knew how to bring out your best features and help you create the look for yourself that you've been dreaming about.
The Bridal Makeup Consultation
Before the wedding day, I have all my clients come in for a bridal makeup consultation. During this consultation, I sit down with the bride-to-be and ask her in-depth questions so that I can find out her expectations. Colours, textures and intensity will be discussed as well as how you will be wearing your hair and the style of dress that you will be wearing. With all of this information combined, I will be able to learn what style of bridal makeup application will be best for you on your wedding day.
The Trial Makeup Application
After we discuss your expectations at the consultation, I will perform a trial makeup application. It is best if you book the consultation and trial makeup application on the same day as your hair trial. This way, you can get a better idea of what both the hair and bridal makeup will look like when you are able to see the two together.
During the trial, I ask my clients to be completely honest with me. Every bride is completely different so I do expect that adjustments will need to be made sometimes. If during the trial, there is anything about the application you are unsure of, I will remove that area of the makeup application and will re-apply it so that we achieve your perfect look. Once the perfect look is achieved, all products, colours and techniques will be recorded in your client record file so that the exact same application is replicated the day of your wedding.
The Wedding Day
The day of your wedding, my schedule is your schedule. I will travel to the location of your choice at the time that works best for you and your bridal party. Part of my job is to make your day completely stress free when it comes to your bridal makeup application.

When 6 Makeup Applications are booked for the wedding day (5 not including the bride), the bridal makeup for the bride will be complimentary.
Complimentary Makeup for the Flower Girl
When 3 Makeup Applications are booked, the Flower girl (12 and under) will receive a complimentary makeup application (eye shadow, blush and lipstick)
